Job Description:
Holiday Inn Express Santa Cruz has an opening for a Full Time House Person. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, a strong team player, passionate about the hospitality industry, and can deliver legendary cleanliness and good service to hotel guests. A House Person will assist in all areas of housekeeping. This person will be responsible for the cleanliness of the public areas.
Major responsibilities include:
· Clean rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using appropriate equipment and cleaning supplies
· Tidy lobby and other public areas on a regular basis. Clean offices, rooms, hallways, restrooms
· Wash doors, windows, mirrors, walls and ceilings, move and arrange furniture, turn mattresses and box springs
· Sweep, mop, scrub, wash and polish floors. Dust and polish metal work.
· Collect soiled linen for laundering. Receive, store and count linen supplies
· Maintain basement and equipment areas
· Responsible for trash removal
· Check with room cleaners during shift to supply needed items
· Set up services in meeting rooms as needed
· Sweep and wash down front, side and/or alley of hotel
· Light maintenance projects such as painting, minor repairs, as assigned
· Actively participate in achieving a safe work environment
· Complete other duties as special projects as assigned by management
Education, Experience, Training or Skills required:
· Some housekeeping/janitorial experience preferred but not required.
· Good communication skills.
· Simple grasping of objects of less than 5 lbs on a daily basis.
· Pushing and pulling of objects from 5 to 50 lbs on a daily basis.
· Lifting of objects more than 10 lbs on a daily basis.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
