Holiday inn express is looking for a uniquely qualified hospitality leader to be our Breakfast Attendant!
Friday & Saturdays. 5am-11am
The Breakfast Attendant's responsibilities include following a daily schedule, performing proper set-up, maintenance, break-down and cleaning of the breakfast area; responsible for providing excellent guest service and satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Set up and maintenance of the Breakfast Bar in an attractive abundant looking, organized, clean and standardized presentation, maintaining brand standards at all times.
- Takes inventory of food, beverages and supplies needed for each day
- Assists with set up of prepared foods such as fresh fruit, coffee and juices
- Set up of serving dishes/trays, utensils, cups and other products
- Set up and arrangement of cold food such as sweet rolls, muffins and cereal
- Clears and cleans tables as they are vacated
- Removes trash from service area
- Restocks self-service food and supplies as needed
- Wash serving equipment and return to proper storage
- Return reusable food supplies to storage after service
- Vacuum, sweep carpets & floors
- Mop floors
- Dust, brush, polish, & vacuum furniture
- Dust and cleans room decorations, appliances, & structural surfaces (e.g. wall fixtures, window sills, vents, etc.; using appropriate cleaners designated by immediate supervisor
- Inspect areas for safety hazards
- Check operating conditions of equipment
- Report lost & found articles per hotel procedure
- Report maintenance problems (common areas) to the department supervisor and maintenance
- Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor/ manager.
- Perform special daily projects assigned by supervisor/ manager
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be able to understand, read, write and speak English and effectively communicate with Team Members and Guests.
- Must be able to apply commonsense understanding, in carrying out instructions
- Must be able to utilize and follow a checklist, take inventory of supplies and convey information to staff and management.
- Must be able to comply in standardized situations with only occasional or no variation.
- Must be available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work without constant supervision.
- Must be able to work well as a part of a team.
- Must be engaging with all guest throughout breakfast period; responding to guest needs as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing and walking for entire length of shift.
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Six months Customer Service, hotel or restaurant experience preferred.
- Must have excellent customer service skills
