The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Alachua Florida is located off I-75 at Exit 399. Our focus service hotel is looking for Guest Room Attendants to join our busy, FUN, and professional team.

This is a day time position with hours ranging from 8:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday and 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Ideally, you'll have some prior experience in a hotel environment, be able to demonstrate initiative and be someone who has the reputation for delivering great service and being fun to work with.

Guest Room Attendants are responsible for cleaning and preparing rooms for our overnight guests. A well prepared room that is clean, fully stocked, and in good working order will allow us to deliver on an exceptional experience for our guests. Additionally, Room Attendants contribute to the overall safety and security of the hotel by reporting damage, following safety rules, and assisting in emergency situations.

Essential Job Functions

Clean and prepare guest rooms; responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Picking up and removing trash
• Changing linen and making the bed
• Cleaning entire bathroom
• Sweeping, vacuuming and dusting guest room
• Cleaning windows and mirrors
• Retrieve, stock, restock and store the housekeeping cart
• Respond to guest inquiries and requests as appropriate
• Report any damage, mechanical problems, or missing room equipment/items
• Promptly turn in found items with documentation to Lost and Found
• Participate in deep cleaning programs as assigned
• Be clean and pick up after yourself before you leave - leave it better than you found it.

General Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be able to successfully complete tasks in prescribed time frame
• Ability to work alone to clean all zones of the guest room/suite with an even temperament
• Effectively communicate with our guests
• Good eye for detail
• Must have mental alertness and be able to comprehend written daily room assignments. Ability to determine when a room meets the cleanliness requirement of the hotel.

Work Environment & Other

• This job operates in a hotel environment, the majority of the work is performed in guest rooms and public space areas
• Requires the use of cleaning tools and equipment, cleaning chemicals and manual labor to deliver clean and ready rooms
• Constant physical movement is involved in performing duties and tasks of a Room Attendant
• Frequently position self to clean all zones of the guest room such as the floor, under the bed, behind furniture, and high and low bathroom fixtures throughout the work shift is required
• Will transport up to 30 lbs., will position up to 50 lbs. and will move up to 30 lbs.
