The Holiday Inn Express & Suites is hiring for a Guest Room Inspector/Bed Maker.
Job Purpose
The housekeeping inspector performs a final inspection of all guest rooms after they have been cleaned to ensure the room meets and exceeds required company, brand and customer service expectations. They ensure that all personnel performing housekeeping operations carry out their assignments in accordance with established standards.
Duties and responsibilities
- Inspects the daily cleaning of assigned rooms and make sure the rooms are being completed to the highest standard. This includes ensuring bed linens are changed, towels are replaced, and bathrooms are properly cleaned, as well as ensuring that the areas are vacuumed, mopped, and dusted and that all daily projects are completed.
- Assist in cleaning any areas which did not pass inspections or depending on the severity of the failed inspection, send the employee back to be recleaned.
- Ensure lost and found items left by guests are logged and stored in a secure location daily.
- Take action on any maintenance issues in guest rooms to ensure hotel established quality. Utilize Quore to upload any maintenance issues.
- Ensure that all room attendant’s carts are kept stocked and orderly.
- Demonstrate teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed.
- Responsible for keeping all storage areas and linen rooms in a clean and satisfactory condition, as well as stocked with needed items
- Practice safe working conditions under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines to include Blood borne Pathogens.
- Provide safe chemical handling as prescribed in SDS sheets
- Communicate in a professional manner with guests, co-workers, and managers. Complete any other duties as assigned to ensure all guests have an exceptional experience
Qualifications and requirements
This job requires ability to perform the following:
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical requirements necessary include walking, standing, bending, lifting, sitting, reaching, and typing on a computer for long periods of time
- Ability to work in moderately noisy work environment for long periods of time and communicate effectively in this environment
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on occasion
- Must be able to push or pull a minimum of 100 pounds
