What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping-Room Attendant position at Holiday Inn Express & Suites?
We are looking for a Housekeeper who is adept at cleaning up after large gatherings and ensuring that the facilities are always immaculate. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to work independently or with a partner, and will have the ability to prioritize tasks in order to ensure that all bases are covered. We would like a candidate to be available on weekends. However, we will accept part time applicants as well.
Responsibilities:
- Make bed(s) and change linens in all departed guest rooms
- Clean and sanitize bathroom (shower, sink, toilets, vanity, mirror)
- Replenish toiletries as necessary
- Dust
- Clean microwave and minifridge
- Empty all trash
- Sweep and mop each room you clean
- Vacuum hallway once you have completed work on a floor
- For all stayovers, check each door at noon to see if the guest has requested not to be disturbed; if no do not disturb sign, clean the room in accordance with hotel and brand standards
Skills:
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to follow instructions from the Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Supervisor, and hotel management
- Ability to complete daily work assignments in a timely manner
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and guests
- Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50lbs., as well as, bend and kneel
- Ability to stand for upwards of 8 hours per shift
Qualifications:
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be available to work a varied schedule depending on the hotel’s needs
- Must be available weekends
- Previous hotel housekeeping preferred, but willing to train
Working Conditions:
Standing, walking for long periods of time while maintaining a friendly professional image. Bending, Kneeling and reaching depening on the areas that need cleaned. Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, available to work holidays and weekends as necessary.
Having initiative, being reliable and when accepting a job able to show up on time.
Positions for potential advancement:
The next step for this position is in a training capacity as an inspector or assistant executive housekeeper. The ability to teach skills and competencies will enhance leadership skills in preparation for further promotion.
