Job description
POSITION PROFILE:
This position is responsible for correctly setting up meeting rooms based on client needs and requests. This is a physically intensive job and requires moving tables, chairs, buffets and other items regularly.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
- Set rooms based on diagrams and Banquet Event Orders.
- Remove all set=ups after end of events.
- Work with a sense of purpose and urgency. Some set-ups require immediate completion.
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure room is set as contracted.
- Be in communication with the Banquet Captain/ Lead Server in regards to any special needs.
- Keep storage areas clean, neat and organized.
- Assist Lead Banquet Server in setting up/breaking down buffet or other special food service tables, stations, and equipment.
- Complete assigned side work.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school education or equivalent experience.
Experience: Six months hotel or convention center -banquet food/beverage services environment.
Skills and Abilities: Able to read, speak and understand English. Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs. Stand continuously for long periods of time. Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
