Overview :
We are looking for a skilled Cook who possesses a passion for food, strong time management skills, and the ability to provide our guests with an exceptional drinking and dining experience here at Holiday Inn KCI.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Measure and mix ingredients according to recipe to prepare various menu items.
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.); check the quality of ingredients prior to use.
- Cook food with various utensils or grillers; check food while cooking to stir or turn.
- Grill, broil, or sauté menu items according to standard recipes and presentation specifications.
- Ensure that menu items are prepared according to recipes in a timely, efficient manner that prevents waste yet ensures quality and guest satisfaction.
- Follow proper procedures in handling food to ensure health and sanitation guidelines are met.
- Use tools and equipment properly to ensure safety and avoid injury or damage to equipment.
- Assist in unloading trucks that arrive with supplies; store and rotate inventory.
- Clean work area, freezers, kitchen area, and dish area to ensure proper cleanliness is maintained; keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Demonstrate a professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with visitors, vendors, and associates.
