The Sales Manager will assist in developing sales and marketing strategies for Holiday Inn KCI/KCI Expo Center to ensure plans are implemented, results are monitored, and sales goals are achieved.

The Sales Manager will assist in developing sales and marketing strategies for Holiday Inn KCI/KCI Expo Center to ensure plans are implemented, results are monitored, and sales goals are achieved.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Regularly sell hotel rooms, meeting spaces, food and beverage packages, and other revenue streams through direct client contacts.
- Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals and maximize profitability. Participate in preparing the annual departmental operating budget, the hotel's marketing and business plans, and financial plans.
- Create and implement sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, and increase the volume of food, beverage, and banquet sales.
- Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyze current/potential market and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share, and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed the established revenue plan.
- Conduct day-to-day sales activity, plan work, and achieve set performance and development goals.
- Work with department managers to ensure proper staffing levels based on guest volume.
- Create valuable relationships with clients, always looking for ways to enhance their group/meeting experience.
- Schedule conventions and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.
- Identify operational problems that reduce the effectiveness of marketing activities and overall sales performance, and work with the appropriate department on solutions.
- Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in hospitality, hotel sales, marketing, or related field required.
- Equivalent combination of higher education and related work experience required.
- Previous hotel sales or hotel management experience is preferred.
- Willingness to travel- this position requires some overnight travel and attendance at various trade shows, industry events, and training.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
