The Breakfast Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant breakfast service while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and customer service. This individual must be knowledgeable about hotel-brand standards, guest expectations, and the local area. Reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager, the Breakfast Attendant ensures guests enjoy an exceptional dining experience during breakfast hours.
The Breakfast Attendant will warmly and professionally welcome guests to the breakfast area, consistently providing friendly and attentive service. Creating a welcoming and clean environment is essential, and the attendant is responsible for maintaining the breakfast area by clearing and setting tables as guests leave. The attendant will assist in the preparations and cleanup of the breakfast buffet and ensure it is appealing and organized, with food items replenished as needed throughout service. Afterward, the attendant is tasked with assisting in cleaning and sanitizing all equipment, tables, and surfaces in both the kitchen and dining areas, including sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping the floors.
In addition to maintaining cleanliness, the Breakfast Attendant is tasked with taking payment, collecting vouchers and working with the front desk team to ensure charges are recorded accurately.
The Breakfast Attendant is expected to engage with guests in a courteous and helpful manner, responding to any inquiries and ensuring their needs are met. Actively seeking guest feedback is part of the role, as it provides insights into areas for improvement. If any guest concerns arise, the Breakfast Attendant should respond graciously and, when necessary, report the issue to a manager.
In terms of team collaboration, the Breakfast Attendant works closely with kitchen staff, housekeeping, and other team members to ensure seamless operations. Effective communication with supervisors and colleagues is key to addressing challenges and sharing insights.
Performance in this role will be evaluated based on the timely completion of essential functions, goal accomplishment, problem-solving skills, and effective communication with the team. Attendance, punctuality, and adherence to documentation and communication procedures will also be considered. Guest satisfaction, particularly regarding the breakfast and overall food and beverage experience, is an essential metric for success.
Candidates must either possess or be willing to obtain Food Handling certification or other required certifications. The Breakfast Attendant must be available for early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays.
