Houseman

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Hotel Houseman to join our hospitality team. As a Houseman, you will play a vital support role in maintaining the overall cleanliness and functionality of the hotel's public areas, assisting housekeeping staff, and ensuring guest areas remain clean, safe, and inviting at all times.

Duties:

• Maintain cleanliness in all public and back-of-house areas, including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, restrooms, and meeting spaces
• Assist housekeeping staff by delivering linens, removing trash, and restocking supplies on guest floors
• Set up and break down event or meeting rooms per hotel standards
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, reporting maintenance issues, and supporting room readiness
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean carpets and hard floors in public spaces
• Clean and sanitize public restrooms and ensure they are well-stocked
• Assist with deep cleaning projects and floor care as needed
• Empty trash receptacles throughout the property and maintain cleanliness in trash disposal areas
• Respond to guest requests promptly and professionally
• Report any safety hazards or maintenance concerns to the appropriate department
• Work collaboratively with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure timely and efficient service delivery
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with guests and coworkers
• Reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor and Housekeeping Inspector
• Follow all hotel safety, cleanliness, and operational policies and procedures

Skills:

• Prior experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial roles preferred
• Familiarity with cleaning techniques, supplies, and equipment
• Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items, including carts and furniture
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness and organization
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team
• Excellent time management and task prioritization
• Basic understanding of chemical safety and handling procedures
• A positive, service-oriented attitude with a willingness to go above and beyond for guest satisfaction
