What are the responsibilities and job description for the Morning Server/Waiter/Waitress position at Holiday Inn & Suites Bakersfield?
As a restaurant server at the Holiday Inn & Suites Bakersfield, we focus on creating a warm & welcomg environment for our guests to relax & dine before getting their day started, or to relax & wind down after their work day or travels. This includes but is not limited to:
Duties:
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Take food and drink orders accurately and promptly
- Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner
- Ensure guest satisfaction by providing excellent customer service
- Answer questions about menu items and make recommendations
- Handle cash and process payments using the POS system
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and dining areas
Experience:
- Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of culinary terms and food preparation techniques is a plus
- Strong guest relations skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
Skills:
- Strong sales skills to upsell menu items and promote specials
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff for efficient service
- Familiarity with POS systems for order processing and payment handling
