General Summary
Providing a lasting impression filled with the highest of quality of service by ensuring banquet experience exceeded guest’s expectations. It is every employee’s responsibility to ensure that all guests’ needs are achieved and handled in an efficient, gracious and professional manor.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or General Education Certificate is encouraged or related experience and/or training. Basic mathematic skills are required. Must be minimum age to serve alcohol and be able to pass TIPs Training.

- Must be able to speak, understand, read and write the English language.
- Must be able to multi-task effectively in a busy and public atmosphere
- Must have the ability to apply appropriate resolution to stressful situations.
- Must read and understand the Employee Handbook.
- Must be able to follow policy and perform in appearance and behavior.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Reliable and honest.
- Must be able to lift heavy food trays up to 25 pounds.
- Must have flexible schedule. Schedules vary based on business need.
D*uties and Responsibilities*
- Know and live the mission and values of the hotel brand company.
- Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor at all times.
- Welcome, greet and serve our guests. Use our 10-5 rule.
- 10 feet- acknowledge the guest with eye contact and a smile
- 5 feet- make a friendly gesture or greeting
- Know how to read a BEO (Banquet Event Order) and complete the set-up.
- Set tables with china and silverware. Prepare water glasses, fold linen, set the center pieces, and prepare tables according to guest request.
- Use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray break-down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
- Serve food and beverages in a timely manner. Follow proper serving etiquette.
- Clear tables (pre-bus) during function.
- Report all instances of guest dissatisfaction to management for resolution and tracking.
- Practice safety standards at all times and keep the property safe for guests and fellow employees. Use wet floor signs, as required. Use personal protective equipment. Report any injuries or unsafe conditions to the person-in-charge immediately.
- Remain attentive of guests needs throughout their stay. Refilling drinks, pre-bussing tables, making sure they have silverware/napkins, etc.
- Ensure great food quality and presentation before bringing items to the table.
- Maintain a clean working environment. Keep station neat and clean while servicing guests.
- Must maintain proper grooming standards from the time you get to work to the time you leave.
- Provide assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and the hotel.
Working Conditions
Public, business atmosphere in which temperatures may vary within reason of indoor climates. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. may occur and with assistance, moving up to 50 lbs.
