What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Agent position at Holiday Inn Westbury?

The Holiday Inn Westbury Hotel is looking for a highly self-motivated Front Desk candidate that can work all Shift. A candidate that can assist our guests promptly, warmly, efficiently, and courteously in all Front Office-related functions, while projecting high standards of service and professionalism at all times.

Applicants must have a friendly and cheerful persona with a positive attitude, excellent people skills, and an energetic personality. Prior IHG Property Experience and OPERA PMS System is also a plus.

We are willing to train the right candidate, no experience needed, but MUST be motivated, responsible and eager to learn the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Advise guests of all hotel services, features and accommodations
Know and understand guest needs and expectations; Handle guest issues efficiently and in a timely manner.
Check in and out guests in a knowledgeable, proficient manner; accurately handle walk-in guests; properly assign rooms based on room requests.
Communicate with Housekeeping and Maintenance Department regarding VIP and Group arrivals.
Answer phones using proper hotel greeting and etiquette; Route telephone calls
Collect payment for all charges; maintain cash draw; process credit cards and direct billing; be knowledgeable of hotel credit, cash in advance and check cashing procedures.
Understand qualified discounts, their availability and application of vouchers
Answer basic Front Office related questions
Basic knowledge of how to operate Office Equipment (Printer, Copier and PMS System)
Receive and deliver clear and professional messages in the computer and offer assistance
Properly accept, handle and deliver guest mail, packages and faxes in a timely fashion
Confirm, record and deliver wake-up calls
Complete job specific checklist on a daily basis
Communicate pertinent shift information to other Supervisors/Manager and team members both verbally and in writing via log book. Update as necessary.

Must have a flexible schedule this is a 24/7 Business.
