Position Overview:

The Busser / Food Runner / Barback is an essential part of our front-of-house team, responsible for ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests. This role requires a blend of speed, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to support the waitstaff and bartenders. The ideal candidate will be proactive, energetic, and committed to maintaining the high standards of service that Solstice Oceanfront Kitchen Cocktails is known for.

Key Responsibilities:Busser Responsibilities:

• Assist in setting up and breaking down the dining area, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
• Clear and reset tables promptly and efficiently after guests leave.
• Assist servers in delivering food and beverages to tables, ensuring all items are correct and presented well.
• Maintain cleanliness of all dining areas, including floors, restrooms, and entryways.
• Stock service stations with necessary supplies, such as napkins, silverware, and condiments.
• Support the team during peak hours by refilling drinks and assisting with guest requests.

Food Runner Responsibilities:

• Deliver food from the kitchen to the appropriate tables in a timely manner.
• Ensure food is presented in an appealing manner and that all items are accurate according to the order.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to manage food orders and resolve any issues.
• Provide guests with descriptions of menu items when necessary and ensure they are satisfied with their orders.
• Assist with any additional guest requests or needs that may arise during service.

Barback Responsibilities:

• Assist bartenders with stocking the bar, including replenishing glassware, garnishes, and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including washing glassware and cleaning surfaces.
• Help prepare garnishes and mix ingredients for cocktails as directed by bartenders.
• Support bartenders during busy periods by ensuring they have the tools and supplies needed to provide excellent service.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management to ensure the bar is well-stocked.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
