Summary
- Position Summary: The Install Technician is a leadership position responsible for installing holiday lights and decor, as well as managing a crew of 2-3 installation workers. They are required to demonstrate diligent work ethic, keen attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety protocols. This is a temporary seasonal position (August through January) that requires high levels of productivity.
- Job Type: Temporary Full-Time (Seasonal)
- Compensation: Salary range for first-year installers during the 11 weeks of the installation season is approximately $16,000 - $25,000. Second-year and long-term installers can earn between $40,000 - $60,000. Pay will differ depending on the applicant's level of experience.

- These dates are tentative and subject to change, but there are roughly 100 black-out dates between September & January.
Responsibilities
- Oversee installation and removal of small to mid-sized holiday lighting and decorations projects, ensuring high-quality results.
- Maintain and manage all installation tools at job sites, ensuring no product or material is left on client's property.
- Coordinate with the Field Operations Manager to set goals consistent with company's vision, and participate in daily training meetings.
- Setup and work from ladders, run power, and operate aerial equipment to install holiday lights, structures, decorations, banners, etc.
- Locate, report, and troubleshoot power issues related to lighting or lighted decorations.
- Responsible for the accurate and timely reporting from the field, maximizing labor during the busy season.
- Communicate effectively with clients and input job data through the company's Field Service Management software.
- All low voltage electrical work, no experience needed. No use of power tools or any heavy equipment.
Skills
- Proficiency in various installation categories, including decor, general lighting, light line, banners, and pole decor.
- Locate, report, and troubleshoot power issues related to lighting or lighted decorations
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 full season completed at HLC (installation and removal phase), or similar experience.
- Proven ability to manage a team.
- Ability to work long days, sometimes up to 12 hours a day, for 5 days a week.
- Comfortable with heights and capable of working in outdoor environments.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hanging Christmas lights and operating aerial equipment.
- Experience with tree climbing equipment and techniques.
- Understanding of basic electrical terms (Watts, Amps, & Volts).
- Bilingual proficiency in English & Spanish.

Work Environment
- The role requires working in outdoor environment for long hours, often at heights using ladders and aerial equipment. The Install Technician is also required to interact professionally with customers and provide respectful service to the public while in the field. They must show up on time and carry and climb ladders from 4' to 40'. The ability to meet at the warehouse to load trucks and go over the itinerary for the day is necessary. This role also includes driving to and from job sites.
