What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN- Charge Nurse position at Holiday Resorts?
Holiday Resort is a 60 bed skilled nursing facility. We provide services to a wide variety of residents for both short and long term care. This variety allows our nurses to experience a wide range of medical complexity.
-Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) charge nurses assess residents per Medicare guidelines, administer insulins and other medications, manage acute conditions, critically analyze information about a resident in order to determine the best course of action, complete treatments, operate medical equipment, assess residents following incidents and implement interventions to increase safety. Our organization utilizes Point Click Care electronic medical record software.
-LPN charge nurses communicate on a regular basis with physicians, other health care providers, pharmacies, residents, staff and residents’ families.
-LPN charge nurses process orders from hospitals and physicians.
-LPN charge nurses will guide and influence direct care staff and assist them when the need arises.
-LPN charge nurses will also be a point of contact for family members and visitors who may have questions or concerns regarding their loved ones and provide education regarding the resident’s condition(s) where appropriate.
Licensed Practical Nurses may work either 8 hour shifts (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am) or 12 hour shifts 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am.
