Holistic Veterinary Options has an exceptional opportunity for a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our team!
Holistic Veterinary Options is Madison’s new and only full-service, fully integrated small animal clinic. We provide traditional veterinary medicine, surgery, and dentistry, individualized vaccine schedules, and preventative care, as well as holistic options including acupuncture, chiropractic care, and nutritional counseling. Our current team is cohesive, dedicated, and hardworking, with a common goal of improving the lives of our patients.
What we hope to find in you:
- Experienced, new graduates and current CVT students will be considered.
- Must be proficient in various skills ranging from but not limited to laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills.
- Ability to stay calm and efficient during stressful situations and demonstrate patience and composure, with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to give SQ, IM, and IV injections.
- Knowledge of usage, dosage, and common side-effects for commonly used prescription medications, with the ability to explain directions for use to clients.
- Must have a working knowledge of anesthesia. Including the ability to intubate and extubate, monitor parameters, and recover a patient after anesthesia.
- Strong client and co-worker communication skills. You’ll find no “office drama” here!
- Experience in cloud-based appointment scheduling and patient records systems is preferred.
- Experience in or a desire to learn about holistic treatment modalities and patient support.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding client and patient information.
- Ability to be highly organized and detail-oriented without losing sight of the “big picture.”
- Ability to be flexible, problem-solve, and offer creative solutions to situations.
This full-time Veterinary Technician position is pivotal to our clinic’s success.
Our business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5:00. Staff hours generally start before the clinic opens. You will work four 10-hour days, but no nights and no weekends!
Pay is negotiable and will be based on previous experience.
