What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Accountant position at Holladay Property Services Mid West Inc?
The Construction Accounting Specialist assists the Accounting/Construction Department responsible for tracking the costs of all tenant improvement and capital projects to ensure they are handled according to policy. This position requires an individual that can perform in a fast paced, high volume environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following

Process CER requests for the following Clients:
- HCP
- CNL
- Nashville
- Communicate CER approvals to appropriate Internal Clients

Assist Internal Clients with the following:
- Bid Tabulation Spreadsheet
- CER Contract
- Overage Invoices
- Sign Off Letters
- Vendor Invoices
- Change Orders
- Track costs on all CER projects.
- Fulfill all process requirements per Client.
- Perform closeout procedure for each CER project
- Organize and Document Monthly Call with HCP Construction
- Train Property Managers on the CER process.
- Annual Capital Budget (track, update, accounting system entry)
- General Ledger account reconciliation (design fee and individual project)
- Journal Entries (reclasses, overage checks, etc)

Weekly reporting to Internal Clients:
- Open CER Spreadsheet
- Month End Accruals (calculate and prepare entries)

Monthly reporting to Building Owner
- Monthly Accruals
- Monthly TI Status
- Internal Holladay Accruals (Mgmt Fees)
- Design and Temp Accounts Reconciliation
- Answer calls and emails from all Internal and External Clients in a timely and positive manner.

Record all information:
- Access (HCP, CNL, & Nashville)
- Excel (HCP, CNL, & Nashville)
- CETS (CNL)
- MRI (HCP)
- Participate in Quarterly Capital calls with the Client
- Mail checks to vendors weekly.

Work in Access to create:
- Databases
- Reports
- Queries
- Forms
- Performs other related duties and assignments as requested by Manager
- This position requires some college with study in accounting helpful
- Computer skills familiar with Access and Excel
- MRI (computer accounting/real estate program) experience or ability to pick up new programs easily.
- Must be detailed oriented, work independently and able to follow procedures
