What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bike Mechanic and Fleet Manager position at Holland Bikes?
Established in 2002 and headquartered in Paris (FR), it is Holland Bike’s mission to introduce the Dutch daily cycling tradition as an alternative and effective means of transportation in and around cities. Today, Holland Bikes is the number 1 provider of bike tours and rentals in France, with over 20 retail and rental points.
In March 2024 Holland Bikes opened their first location in the United States. Located in Brooklyn NY, this brand new location provides bike rentals and guided tours in multiple languages. In February 2025, Holland Bikes is opening their second location, located near Central Park.
Tasks
As Bike Mechanic, your responsibility is to keep every bike in the fleet is in excellent condition – a crucial ingredient for our operation. You travel between the Brooklyn and Manhattan locations, while you’re responsible regular maintenance, repairs of all bikes and e-bikes, and managing our spare parts and maintenance equipment.
Requirements
We’re looking for someone with the following skills, knowledge and abilities :
- Strong mechanical / technical skills. Preferable, but not necessary, a technical high school degree
- At least two years of experience in working with bikes and e-bikes
- Ability to develop and learn new skills while working with state-of-the-art technology
- Ability to keep a high standard in maintenance and to take pride in organizational success when break-down rates stay low
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a solid backlog in bike maintenance and spare parts.
- Ability to work independently, with limited supervision and support
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, high energy organization
- Highest standard in hospitality and service – always with a smile, even while working on complex issues on the busiest days
- A true team player, who enjoys working in an international environment
- Fluent in English – any second language is a big plus
- Authorization to work in the United States, without the need of visa sponsorship now, or in the future
