What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Baseball Coach position at Holland, City of (MI)?
This is a seasonal position under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator. This individual will organize, plan and facilitate baseball activities for the community through the City of Holland Recreation Department. The Middle School Baseball Coach will coach one of the middle school baseball teams during the Lakeshore baseball season. Under the general direction of the Recreation department, the Middle School Baseball Coach will lead practices and coach games during the week.
COMPENSATION: $1000 Stipend
REPORTS TO: Recreation Program Coordinator
SCHEDULE: Mid-March – Early June
1. Plan, organize and supervise baseball practices and games.
2. Instruct athletes on fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to compete at the middle school level.
3. Create a positive environment that promotes sportsmanship and opportunities for growth.
4. Support and carry out the philosophy of the Recreation Department.
5. Provide communication to team parents regarding the practice schedule, game schedule, and other baseball details.
6. Maintain a positive working relationship with other employees and the public. Maintain a professional image, in person, through email and by telephone.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.1. Must have experience and/or knowledge of baseball as a participant or coach.
2. Ability to pass a background check.
3. Must be able to work evenings during the week from March to early June.
4. Physical ability to occasionally lift/push/pull/transport equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
