The Recreation Activities Generalist will work under the general direction of the Recreation Coordinator. Team members will perform a variety of tasks to support recreational programs, events, and facilities within the City of Holland. Responsibilities will include front desk operations at Bouws Pool, scorekeeping for various sports, assisting in concessions, and other recreation-related duties as assigned.1. Customer Service: Interact with the public, answer inquiries, provide directions, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere for participants and guests.
2. Front Desk Operations: Greet visitors, provide program information, answer phone calls, and assist with registrations at Bouws Pool and other recreation facilities.
3. Scorekeeping: Maintain accurate game records and operate scoreboards for various sports leagues, ensuring fairness and proper documentation.
4. Concessions Assistance: Prepare and serve food and beverages at concession stands, handle cash transactions, and maintain a clean workspace.
5. Facility Oversight: Assist with monitoring recreation facilities, ensuring equipment and supplies are in place, and reporting any maintenance needs.
6. Event Support: Help set up, run, and take down equipment and supplies for city and park events.
7. Enforce Policies: Ensure compliance with facility rules, safety regulations, and program guidelines.
8. General Maintenance: Assist with light cleaning, trash removal, and organizing recreational spaces as needed.
9. Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional tasks related to recreational activities, programs, and events as directed by supervisors.
1. Experience in Recreation or Customer Service: Prior experience in recreation programs, sports scorekeeping, concessions, or customer service is preferred but not required.
2. Basic Math and Computer Skills: Ability to handle cash transactions, operate a register, and use basic software for front desk operations.
3. Strong Communication Skills: Ability to interact positively with the public, staff, and program participants in a professional manner.
