Summer Grounds Technician - Seasonal Position

Holland Home - Raybrook and Breton Campus

Our Grounds and Landscaping team is looking for a hardworking and detail-oriented individual to assist our team with routine exterior maintenance around our campuses. Become a part of Holland Home of Grand Rapids' 125-year-long legacy of caring for older adults and help keep our grounds beautiful for our aging adults. This position is great for students or individuals who are looking for a summer job!

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs routine exterior maintenance to resident residences and other buildings throughout Holland Home.
• Assumes responsibility for the exterior maintenance of all landscapes throughout the Holland Home campuses, including lawn mowing, weeding, snow plowing, salting, shoveling, set-ups etc.
• Performs daily rounds, performs exterior maintenance on a written work request system, completes preventive maintenance requests and identifies and repairs deficiencies.
• Assists with outdoor set-ups as needed.
• Monitors pesticide applications and pond treatments.
• Provides a safe environment for residents and staff, assuring entryways and walkways are free of debris, snow, ice, etc.
  
  

Schedule

• Monday - Friday
• 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
• Start Date: As early as May 1st
• Summer only
  
  

Job Qualifications

• The job requires knowledge normally acquired through a general high school diploma or equivalent.
• Cement and heavy equipment experience is a plus but not required.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Reliable means of transportation.
