Lead Estimator

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in analyzing project specifications, floorplans, and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates for residential single-family construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and project managers. Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services for various construction projects.
• Floorplan Analysis: Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documents to develop accurate estimates.
• Budget Development: Work closely with the Purchasing Team to confirm project budgets during pre-construction.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and cost implications associated with project changes and unforeseen issues.
• Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive estimates, ensuring transparency and clarity in the estimating process.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates, revisions, and correspondence related to cost proposals.
• Estimate Management: Make adjustments to estimates as needed based on variances throughout ongoing projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (in Construction Management or a related field preferred).
• Proven experience as a construction estimator or in a similar role (3 years required).
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Planswift, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with project management principles and practices is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to visit job sites and perform site assessments as needed.
• Capacity to work in an office environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
