Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services for various construction projects.
- Floorplan Analysis: Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documents to develop accurate estimates.
- Budget Development: Work closely with the Purchasing Team to confirm project budgets during pre-construction.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and cost implications associated with project changes and unforeseen issues.
- Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive estimates, ensuring transparency and clarity in the estimating process.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates, revisions, and correspondence related to cost proposals.
- Estimate Management: Make adjustments to estimates as needed based on variances throughout ongoing projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (in Construction Management or a related field preferred).
- Proven experience as a construction estimator or in a similar role (3 years required).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Planswift, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to visit job sites and perform site assessments as needed.
- Capacity to work in an office environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
