The New Patient Scheduler reports directly to the Primary Care Administrator, helping to provide oversight and support to the day-to-day operations in new patient access. The Scheduler assists the Primary Care Administrator with creating, coordinating, and implementing scheduling practices to promote efficient access to care for patients and effective schedule utilization for providers.
Employment Type: Part Time limited hours
Shift: Mon-Fri
Weekly Scheduled Hours: 8
Wage Range: $15.72-$23.21
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED or higher education
PATIENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Greets patients and guests in a professional and friendly manner, accurately schedules patients for new patient appointments with appropriate provider using criteria such as: medical needs of the patient, patient preference and demographic location.
- Participates in maintaining a confidential, safe and patient-focused experience. Communicates in a professional and friendly manner with our provider teams. Answers calls promptly and professionally, screens and directs calls as appropriate Assures confidential questionnaires are completed and all necessary forms are provided through email, snail or other appropriate source.
- Logs preauthorization/insurance information in a timely, accurate manner.
- Posts insurance information accurately and follows up on insurance problems when indicated. Collects copayments and/or payments and identifies problems to Office Manager. Posts co-payments to correct patient accounts.
RECORD MAINTENANCE
- Maintains files and related supplies for providers in an accessible, yet confidential and secure system.
- Responds to requests for records from providers and other appropriate individuals in a timely fashion, according to approved guidelines
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
- Supports the quality improvement activities of the facility and responds appropriately to change.
- Participates in learning experiences as appropriate.
- Requests supervision when needed and utilizes supervision effectively.
- Ensures compliance with policy, procedure and regulatory requirements. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality, as well as ethical billing practices. Identifies communication needs of significant referral sources and assures that they receive information in a timely manner.
