Maintains responsibility for the preparation of the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions throughout the surgical procedure. This position is responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and implements policies of the hospital related to surgery. Works alongside the circulating Registered Nurse and under the supervision of a surgeon to facilitate safe and effective care that maximizes patient safety.
Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent experience in Surgical Technology required.
$5,000 Sign On Bonus
Pay Range: $23.31-$36.36/hour
Employment Type: Full Time Days, 80 hours every 2 weeks
Schedule: Varied days, 10 hour shifts, includes call requirement
Requirements: Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent experience in Surgical Technology, BLS for the Healthcare Provider by 60 days after hire required
Essential Functions:
* Provides sterile instruments and supplies throughout the surgical procedure
* Performs appropriate surgical counts throughout the surgical procedure
* Creates and maintains a sterile and safe environment
* Prepares surgical cases with the necessary equipment, supplies, instruments, and medications/solutions for each procedure
* Expedites procedure by anticipating the needs of the physician through proper selection of appropriate equipment, instruments, and supplies
* Supports the operation of the unit by completing assigned tasks such as inventory, stocking, and cleaning of assigned areas #IND123
This position includes weeknight, weekend, and holiday call.
