Environmental Lab Tech

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 4:00AM-1:00PM, Overtime as needed/Occasional weekends

Hours Per Week: Full Time

Wage: $23 per hour

The Environmental Lab Tech must have the knowledge and ability to follow aseptic protocol; collect line samples, raw and pasteurized milk samples received and produced daily for testing.

• Manage Allergen Control Program: verify allergen testing results, assure they are being completed
• Manage Environmental Monitoring Program: sample collection, sending samples to labs, tracking/trending, investigations and corrective actions
• Daily Pre-Operational Inspections (including ATP Swabbing)
• In charge of purchasing for QA Department (keep up with lab inventory supplies)
• use ATP swabs daily sanitation verifications and environmental swabbing
• Collects and preps samples to ship to lab
• CAPAs as assigned (root cause investigation, corrective/preventive actions)
• Participates in monthly and yearly internal audits of the production facility.
• Assists in collecting wastewater samples and completing necessary paperwork to comply with regulations.
• Batch record review and verification (verifying we meet internal specifications and traceability)
• Assists in food safety and quality projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is constantly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 10 to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions and the noise level in the work environment is quiet except for when on the production floor.
