Hollandia Outdoor Living Concepts is a faith-based organization whose mission is to provide award winning design, installation and maintenance service to every client. Our service-focused team and industry-leading resources allow us to be the premier landscape contractor in West Michigan. We are currently looking for an experienced Landscape Designer to join our team.
Overall Purpose and Objective of this position
The Landscape Designer/Sales employee must be familiar with all aspects of landscape design and project builds which includes: sales, estimating, design, construction and customer service. This individual will oversee all interaction with the client and keep them informed throughout the project. From the initial contact with the client, presentation of the design proposal, to the closing of the sale, the Landscape Designer will be the main point of contact. On the production side, they will interface with production & administrative personnel, as well as interface with subcontractors & vendors as required to complete the project in a timely manner. Upon project completion, they will conduct a final walkthrough with the client. Any issues discovered therein, will be resolved and followed through to ensure the project is to satisfaction for all parties involved.
Skill Set & Education Requirements
- Minimum of three years in Landscape Design/Build/Sales Experience
- Bachelor degree (preferably in a Green Industry related field)
- Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in or able to learn customer relationship management (CRM) software
- Proficient in or able to learn company estimating software
- Able to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner
Responsibilities
- Produces new leads and manages leads provided by Hollandia
- Qualifies new leads over the phone, and schedules appointments with potential clients
- Conducts on site appointments with potential clients and collects design fees
- Measures project location and conducts an analysis of existing property
- Creates high quality landscape designs using CAD and/or 3D software
- Produces project estimate using Aspire landscape business management software
- Reviews the project design and estimate with Director of Sales, before delivering the presentation to the client
- Reviews all bids with the Director of Sales for accuracy and marketability
- Presents world class design to potential client in person
- Closes sale and coordinates project specifications with purchasing & administrative personnel
- Ensures job cost reports are properly analyzed and disseminated
- Ensures vendor and subcontractor pricing is competitive, and all invoices are accurate, as bid
- Creates work packet for production team & works closely with the production team to ensure the project is completed with efficiency and world class quality
- Visits the project site regularly to ensure the project is being completed to the required specification of the design
- Ensures the project is kept on schedule and at or under budget
- Interfaces with subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate completion of their phase of the project
- Ensures that all safety procedures are followed and reports any unsafe conditions to supervisors
- Works with and communicates with the client, as the main point of contact, throughout the process of the project. This includes updates on scheduling, working with clients on any complaints, working through change orders, etc.
- Quickly produces signed change orders when needed on projects. This could include design changes that have been discussed with client or addressing problems from unforeseen circumstances on a project.
- Conduct final walk through of projects with clients to ensure complete satisfaction and collect remaining balance.
***Compensation based on experience.
