Description
Holley-Navarre Water System is an 18,000 strong member owned not-for-profit water and wastewater company in Santa Rosa County. HNWS has an annual budget of approximately $16 million. HNWS wholly owns two subsidiaries, an engineering firm, and a golf course. This is technical work involving all aspects of the operation and maintenance of the Holley Navarre Water System and Fairpoint Regional Utility System wastewater treatment plant.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Perform daily chemical analyses, in accordance with state mandated requirements and federal guidelines.
- Calibrate and repair testing equipment.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area including lime feed equipment, chemical feeders, and laboratory areas.
- Maintain required historical files of all operational data.
- Maintain plant inventory records.
- Inspect equipment, analyzers, and wells according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
- Collect water samples for state and federal compliance monitoring.
- Conduct Wetland Monitoring protocols in accordance with the conditions listed in the Consumptive Use Permit.
- Maintain and wear proper safety apparel.
- Recognize equipment failure or treatment deficiencies and take appropriate corrective action utilizing sound judgment.
- Regulate the flow of water into and out of the treatment facility.
- Starts-up and shuts-down pumping equipment and valves.
- Ensure proper operation of plant control systems.
- Order and store needed chemicals.
- Work varying shifts, hours, and locations.
- Perform related work as required.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Minimum of a Florida Class “C” Water Treatment Plant Operator License; Current Florida Driver’s License
