Shipping Clerk
Location : ADS in Tucson, AZ
Job Type : Full-time
Position Overview Shipping and Packaging clerks are responsible for keeping records of all products shipped and received within the ADS Shock Department. They pack the goods in shipping containers, develop mailing labels and shipping documents and ensure that all orders have been filled correctly. Maintaining Detailed Shipping Logs
Essential Job Functions
- Packaging
- Receiving parts from shock department with a sales order and guaranteeing accuracy
- Using clean mark free boxes / ADS Logo for customers
- Individually wrapping certain parts or packaging as to not damage in transport
- Ensuring that packed boxes are still able to be lifted and not overloaded
- Taking weights and measurements when packaging to log shipping quotes
- Multiple boxes to one customer will be loaded on a pallet and wrapped for transport
- Labeling either with official labels and pencil markings until official labels with Sales Order information
- Outgoing
- Determining best way to ship package, UPS, USPS, customer account, Freight. Getting quote to determine.
- Creating labels. Notating shipping cost for accounting department
- Acquiring pack list from accounting to attach to box shipping out.
- Notifying shipping company when package is ready for pickup.
- Basic Duties
- Performing inventory of shipping area
- Notifying ordering department of items needed before running out
- Determining which supplies can be reused internally
- Keeping shipping area well organized and presentable
- Greeting customers and directing them to the correct employee if possible
- Engages with vendors and drivers in a positive manner
- Provides additional backup support for other departments when time allots
- Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them
