Position: Production Technologist/Continuous Improvement Specialist
Location: New Braunfels, TX
Summary:
Production Technologist/Continuous Improvement Specialist utilizes the latest technology (computer software and hardware) to optimize overall production and order fulfilment performance.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Analyzes operational processes and implements technological improvements to eliminate non-value activities
- Creates and maintains data collection files and develops reports for key production, warehouse and shipping metrics including:
- Work center and operator efficiency
- Product flow and manufacturing lead time
- Inventory analysis
- Material utilization
- Quality performance
- Returns/Warranty $’s and root cause analysis
- Shipping efficiency
- Shipping Accuracy
- Implements/maintains system for streamlining custom product processes including:
- Order entry
- Costing/quoting calculations
- Product feature and customer order database
- BOM/Routing creation
- Order process tracking
- Implements technology to eliminate requirements for physical paper throughout entire order/production process from order entry to product shipment including:
- Electronic order tracking/monitoring
- Electronic visuals for product manufacturing
- Scanning technology for inventory tracking/management
- Scanning technology for picking/shipping product
- Utilizes simulation technology to optimize material flow throughout warehouse, production and shipping departments
- Develops costing software for various processes to optimize manufacturing versus purchasing decisions
- Leads cross-functional teams on cost improvement projects
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
- Strong experience with SQL
- Experience working with PLC (ladder logic)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with ERP interface software
- Experience developing visual instructional aids
- Strong understanding of waste reduction and data-driven quality control (Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, PDCA, Kaizen).
- Process Mapping & Value Stream Analysis: Ability to analyze workflows and identify inefficiencies
- Statistical Analysis & Problem-Solving: Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control), DOE (Design of Experiments), Root Cause Analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram).
- Familiarity with PLM systems
- Programming experience (Python, Javascript, C)
- Bilingual a plus
