What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forecast Analyst position at Holley Performance?
The Forecast Analyst is responsible for three main aspects of forecasting: 1. preparing forecasts, 2. building consensus and getting buy-in from end-users, and 3. making a continuous effort to improve forecasts and planning parameters. This position will know the business, possess the ability to perform statistical analysis to forecast, recognize turning points in demand, and monitor changes in key business drivers. In conducting research, the ability to shape analytical findings into a meaningful business picture is critical.
This position must understand the business's demand and supply sides and will monitor the dynamics of sales patterns and will communicate observations to and seek input. They will interact with Marketing and Sales as well as the team leaders at our operational shops on a continual basis relating to those observations and inputs.
Key Job Elements (Essential Functions Performed):
- Set up, manage, and maintain forecasting models.
- Serve as a functional expert in forecasting/demand planning process.
- Conduct forecast analysis of parts and component demand, prepare reports and advise on feasibility of short to long term strategic plans for special projects and ongoing initiatives that are implemented to achieve the organization's growth, efficiency and profitability objectives.
- Identify out-of-the-norm conditions on any product and communicate to management; make recommendations for solution.
- Plan and forecast future inventory levels based on sales forecast, historic and current stock levels.
- Provide direction for expediting, deferring or cancelling orders for makes, buys or transfers, when necessary and ensure proper inventory levels are available.
- Liaise interdepartmentally with engineering, production planning, manufacturing, Marketing, Sale and purchasing, etc., to optimize the ongoing process for accurate parts planning.
- Gain consensus on resultant forecasts from Marketing, Sales, and Operations to develop a demand plan.
- Provide graphical reporting and performance measurements.
- Benchmark and work towards improving performance.
- Analyze, report, and optimize planning parameters including safety stock, days of supply, and inventory position.
Basic Qualifications (Education/Experience required):
- A college degree is required, and a degree in mathematics, statistics, or business is preferred.
- Must have a business and analytical or statistical work experience. Work experience in the supply chain field is preferred.
- Quantitative background
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of team members ranging from entry-level to executive-level positions.
- Demonstrated leadership and the ability to develop positive interdepartmental relationships.
- Proficient in Excel, Forecasting Software, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in Syteline or other ERP systems.
- Passion for learning with excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize projects and communicate direction internally and externally.
