Hollie Ray Boutique is a sister-owned women's clothing boutique headquartered in Franklin, TN. Our mission is to provide a great shopping experience for our customers by assisting them to find styles that make them feel their best and stay on-trend. We strive to go above and beyond by providing personalized service for each of our customers and by providing great quality items that will last.

Hollie Ray currently has two retail locations, as well as an operations office in Franklin. We are seeking a District Manager to develop a channel of communication between the stores and the office with the goal of reaching more customers, nurturing employee morale, and ensuring that the stores consistently meet profit and sales goals.


Role Expectations


Leadership & People Management

  • Effectively manage store staff through touch-bases, regular in-person visits and development conversations.
  • Support the Store Managers in their hiring decisions coaching them to build a strong team that prioritizes customer connection and provides a world-class experience.
  • Maintain the job listings and job portal and oversee the hiring process. Hire and train Store Managers and assist managers in scheduling interviews when necessary.
  • Support Store Managers in creating a culture of performance feedback, support, and recognition - setting the expectation of daily "in the moment" and well as formalized coaching, training and recognition.
  • Employee relations: stay up-to-date on HR compliance laws and ensure teams abide by labor law policies; partner with managers as necessary to resolve employee issues.
  • Ensure onboarding process and all necessary documents are collected at the beginning of employment and documents are filed and stored properly.
  • Ensure new team members are trained to company standard and prepared to work in their roles.
  • Proactively develop new training materials as needed and facilitate and update company policies when needed.


Communication

  • Act as a liaison between the owners and the retail stores through regular communication via daily email updates and weekly in-person meetings.
  • Create and facilitate pipeline for employee ideas and feedback, customer insights, store needs, etc to the owners each week
  • Ensure important company updates are communicated to the stores and managers via appropriate channels.


Sales & Operations

  • Store performance: Meet and exceed sales goals by training Store Managers and staff to understand KPIs and how these metrics can increase revenues.
  • Profit & Loss: Find opportunities for cost savings and profit driving and communicate these ideas to the owners in an effort to increase efficiencies and financial growth.
  • Inventory: Partner with designated inventory managers to optimize inventory levels, ensure appropriate merchandise reaches the right customers, and reduce waste.
  • Visual Merchandising: Partner with designated merchandising managers to ensure brand consistency and standards are being upheld in each Hollie Ray store including windows, displays and fixtures.
  • Support Store Managers with scheduling and payroll: Ensure stores are properly staffed, work with Store Managers to maintain a payroll budget, resolve any time card discrepancies with store managers each week. Ensure holiday pay, OT and all policies are adhered to.
  • Standards: Ensures store standards are maintained, including but not limited to: merchandising, cleanliness, appropriate inventory levels, backroom organization and cleanliness, safety in accordance with standard policies and procedures, etc.


Community

  • Network with the neighboring businesses to understand any changes or needs in the market with the intention of growing and driving traffic to Hollie Ray
  • Attend community meetings (Fifth Broad semi-annual marketing meetings, monthly Downtown Franklin Association meetings, etc) to foster a connection for Hollie Ray with its community.
  • Be knowledgeable about local clientele and communities and establish an ongoing rapport with the local community. 
  • Take the lead at community events acting as a local brand ambassador to increase community awareness, assist with setting up and teardown of booth spaces, and with selling merchandise when applicable and ensuring the event is fully staffed as needed.


Desired Qualifications & Experience

  • 4 years in retail leadership; Multi-store Leader or District Manager experience preferred.
  • A desire to grow with a small business and help provide a great shopping experience for our customers and foster a community of growth and positivity for the store employees.
  • Self-sufficient: Ability to fix something if it is broken, looking for ways to improve the business by taking feedback from the team and customers and translating it into action items. 
  • Availability must reflect the needs of a retail business - this schedule will include weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Experience and understanding of retail KPIs, goals, and measures of success and holding teams accountable to meet those goals.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, solicit cooperation, and achieve results through collaboration while simultaneously holding team members accountable.
  • Expertise in human resources, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, payroll, and performance management

  • Salary is negotiable and dependent upon experience
  • 80 hours paid time off (PTO) each calendar year
