SUMMARY STATEMENT/POSITION OVERVIEW:
Join us as we launch exciting new operations with the US Postal Service! We are seeking an Operations Manager to help lead the sorting and reprocessing of undeliverable and fraudulent mail. The ideal candidate will oversee activities and personnel across the operation to maximize warehouse productivity and safety and exceed customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES - Warehouse Operations Manager
Oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, production, shipping and inventory control.
Help develop and enforce procedures for identifying, categorizing, and processing undeliverable and fraudulent mail.
Supervise, coach, and train warehouse staff on best practices for sorting and handling mail, focusing on security and lost prevention.
Implement and uphold safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Monitor and analyze P&L statements regularly to ensure financial performance aligns with budgetary goals.
Implement cost-control measures to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
Collaborate with upper management to streamline operations, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices that enhance efficiency.
Set performance metrics for the team, evaluate their progress, and provide regular feedback to enhance productivity.
Resolve any issues related to warehousing operations promptly and effectively.
SPECIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS - Warehouse Operations Manager
Bachelor’s Degree in business or supply chain management OR 5-10 years working in third-party logistics
At least 5 years of leadership experience
Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics, preferably with experience in postal services or related industries
Experience in continuous improvement methodologies is preferred, with a track record of implementing process enhancements to drive efficiency and effectiveness
Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems
Strong conflict resolution skills to effectively address and manage disputes or issues that arise within the team or during operations
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
