What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal position at Hollis Brookline High School?
POSITION: Principal
DISTRICT: Hollis Brookline Cooperative School District
BUILDING: Hollis Brookline High School
SALARY: Competitive Salary based on experience
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
HBHS is seeking a new Principal beginning July 1, 2025. Hollis and Brookline are long-standing communities in New Hampshire as they were incorporated in 1746 and 1769, respectively. The two towns are nestled just west of Nashua, New Hampshire in Hillsborough County. They are close enough to attract commuters from Nashua, Manchester, and the greater Boston area; yet, they are remote enough to enjoy the functionality as an active farming community in a near rural feel. The towns have a thriving equestrian community, with much of the landscape encompassing gently rolling pastures, apple orchards, and picturesque local farms and farmhouses. Together, the towns have a population of just over 13,000.
HBHS has a population of around 800 students in grades 9 through 12. Students enter the middle school (grade 7) from our community’s two feeder districts: the Hollis and the Brookline School Districts. Hollis Brookline High School continues the work of unifying our two communities and preparing students for college or career beyond HBHS. Specifically, the principal of HBHS will be responsible for guiding the instructional program, completing professional and support staff evaluations, developing and implementing a solid budget, as well as maintaining a visible presence with students, parents, and the community.
The successful candidate should possess:
strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
possess a management style that is visible, interactive and student-centered
skilled in using data to drive instructional decisions, and in the related areas of curriculum, instruction and assessment
able to demonstrate a record of success in motivating, coaching, and leading a team of teachers, staff and parents
