Job Descriptions:
-12 or more ECE units (AA and/or BA degree in ECE or related field & teacher permit preferred)
-At least 1 year of experience working with children in a licensed child care/educational environment.
-Knowledge of Constructivist/Reggio Emilia Approach to teaching and learning desirable
-Flexible and enthusiastic. Love what you do... seriously, like REALLY love it.
-Friendly, warm and nurturing. Be a nice person & work well in a team.
-Have some other interesting interests or skills... dancing, music
-Write well and be comfortable speaking to parents, incident reports, issues or concerns. Enter smartcare timelines on each students account (diaper change, meals, etc.)
-Ensure the well being and safety of children at all times.
-Follow California Code of Regulations, Title 22
Duties
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with educational standards and cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Conduct assessments to monitor children's progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Create a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and exploration.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Foster relationships with parents through regular communication regarding their child's development and progress.
- Incorporate physical education activities into the curriculum to promote health and wellness.
- Provide support for children with special education needs, ensuring an inclusive environment for all learners.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom space conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance the overall educational experience.
Skills
- Strong lesson planning abilities to create engaging educational experiences.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood education.
- Experience in physical education or integrating movement into the classroom setting.
- Familiarity with special education practices to support diverse learners effectively.
- Background in daycare settings or childcare environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to educate young children using various teaching methods, including Montessori approaches.
- Proficient in behavior management techniques to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Experience working with students in early childhood settings, demonstrating patience and understanding.
