Controller
Hollman, Inc. is a dynamic and forward-thinking organization dedicated to excellence in manufacturing lockers. We are currently seeking an experienced Controller to join our accounting team. You will oversee our accounting and financial management functions as a critical player in our organization.
The hands-on controller will be responsible for our organization's day-to-day financial administration, financial reporting, auditing, and compliance activities. Your Background should include manufacturing or a high-volume purchase order-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for aligning departmental strategy or direction with the organization’s overall goals.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Generate regular financial reports for management and other stakeholders.
- Provide insights into financial performance and trends.
- Assist with setup and management of the organization’s budgeting process.
- Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
- Oversee the collection of receivables to ensure strong cash flow and liquidity.
- Managing banking relationships and optimizing financial resources.
- Provide financial analysis and make recommendations to support decision-making.
- Mentor and develop staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Stay abreast of ERP needs and recommend system improvements and/or changes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (with 12 minimum hours of accounting).
- Previous experience overseeing the accounting and financial team as a controller (5 years minimum) or assistant controller/accounting manager (7 years minimum).
- Broad experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience directing an accounting team in a manufacturing company and/or heavy PO-based company (minimum of 3 years).
- Proficiency in financial software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Syteline experience preferred.
- Robust leadership and management skills to effectively lead a finance team and commit the team to action.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and senior management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and trends. Experience in financial modeling and forecasting.
- Advanced Excel skills (sumifs, v-lookup, x-lookup, pivots, charts, etc.).
- High ethical standards and integrity in dealing with sensitive financial information.
- Flexible disposition with the ability to adapt to changing business environments and take the initiative in identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Sharp attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to producing high-quality financial reports.
- Practical time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be willing to work extended hours, including some weekends, to meet internal/external deadlines.
