Production Engineer
Overview:
A Production Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production workflows, and maintaining high-quality standards. They manage routing and BOMs, oversee continuous improvement initiatives, develop SOPs, and support special projects. They also work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing, to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Routing & BOM Management: Maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) and routing processes, ensuring proper material demand for purchasing and production execution.
- ECN Management: Implement and communicate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) company-wide, updating BOMs, routing, and SOPs to standardize changes and minimize disruptions.
- CutRite & ERP (Syteline) Operations: Own CutRite optimization, ensure efficient material utilization, and backfill critical data into ERP (Syteline) for accurate production planning.
- Continuous Improvement & Root Cause Analysis: Conduct deep-dive investigations into production inefficiencies, identify root causes, and implement improvements to enhance workflow and reduce waste.
- SOP Development: Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and best practices across production operations.
- Special Project & Hot Job Management: Oversee high-priority client orders, ensuring downstream teams, including purchasing and manufacturing, receive clear execution instructions.
- Power BI & Data Analysis: Utilize Power BI and data analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive data-driven decision-making for process enhancements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, procurement, and production teams to optimize workflows and improve overall efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in BOM management, routing, ERP systems (Syteline preferred), and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CutRite software, Power BI, and other production planning tools.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Bilingual, English and Spanish (preferred.)
