Position Details
The qualified candidate will support student growth in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through Project-Based Learning Methods and the use of research based, highly effective instructional practices which promote interactive learning and student engagement. They will meet the needs of each student by building trusted and caring relationships, understanding and implementing best practices, creating and utilizing systems of intervention and support, differentiated instruction, and a variety of instructional strategies. The candidate must be adept with technology and ready to consider emergent techniques to enhance student achievement.
- Collaborate with district leaders to develop, enhance, and implement a comprehensive STEM curriculum.
- Develop and implement creative and engaging lesson plans.
- Incorporate practical application of content knowledge in lesson plans.
- Develop hands-on STEM activities and learning material.
- Knowledge and ability to implement project-based and problem-based lessons.
- Knowledge and ability to implement cooperative learning and flexible grouping strategies consistently.
- Demonstrated and dynamic skills in the use of technology.
- Support STEM initiatives throughout the District.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each learner.
- Develop and implement progressive classroom-based interventions.
- Utilize progress monitoring.
- Monitor and evaluate student development and growth through a variety of assessments.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records.
- Establish and maintain an effective and cooperative working relationship with all staff, students, and parents.
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited university and a Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsements such as DX, DI, or EX.
This position reports to the Building Principal.
