Job Title: Adolescent Treatment Worker
Location: California Kentucky
Schedule: Full-Time (Wednesday-Sunday, 7AM-3PM)
About The Role:
This position is responsible to the Cottage Supervisor. Adolescent Treatment Workers are responsible for providing direct care and supervision of the residents in care. Responsible for practicing professionalism while promoting and maintaining a therapeutic living environment conducive to the safe and healthy growth and development of the residents in care as well as making sure all routines are followed in the cottage. This position requires you to be 21 years of age.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to ensuring personal knowledge and practice of Trauma Informed Care theory and practical application.
  • Provides professional direct care and supervision of youth placed in program throughout all facets of the cottage, campus, and off campus programing.
  • Maintains professional objectivity and self-discipline in conducting job responsibilities so that each resident’s needs remain the primary focus.
  • Maintains familiarity with emergency and crisis intervention procedures and implements them in a calm and expedient manner.
  • Keeps information about residents’ and his/her family confidential; shares information only with others who are involved with the resident and family on a professional basis, in a professional manner, and only when it serves the best interest of the resident. As required by HIPPA
  • Works cooperatively with and communicates effectively with other team members, parents and other professionals in exchanging information and assisting the client to meet their treatment goals. Participates in treatment team meetings, weekly case staffing, cottage meetings, ect.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, secure and orderly environment in the cottage, transport vehicles, and campus; maintains a structured daily routine in the cottage. Requires some housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Responsible for ensuring timely arrival at appointments and providing safe transportation for clients to appointments as needed or assigned. Drives agency vehicles in a safe and lawful manner.
  • Dispenses medication with utmost care and accuracy, as directed by physicians or appropriate medical personnel. Logs all medications dispensed to residents.
  • Supports and enforces the rules and positive reinforcement strategies of the cottage and program.
  • Plans, implements and supervises daily activities for the residents within the structure of the cottage, keeping in mind the age, individual needs and developmental levels of each resident.
  • Teaches the residents independent living skills, helps them work through emotional and behavioral problems and assists them with preparing for future placement.
  • Keeps accurate records and writes thorough and objective reports in electronic health record.
  • Practices collaboration by clear and transparent communication with team members, supervisors, and clinical staff. Attends all scheduled supervision, training, and meetings.
  • Demonstrated independent responsibility for completing all identified training by given deadlines.
  • Complies with all agency and department policies and standard procedures.
  • Respects the philosophy of Holly Hill Children’s Services and adheres to our mission of serving the most vulnerable youth.
  • Orients new residents to the rules and routine of the cottage.
  • Maintains a personal awareness of the case history of each resident. Has an understanding of the child’s background, level of functioning and potential for growth.
  • Understands and effectively utilizes behavior modification and behavior management techniques.
  • Assumes a leadership role both on campus and in the community to assure that each client’s treatment, care and safety needs are being met. Upholds and Adheres to clinical directives.
  • Responds respectfully and effectively to people of all cultures, classes, race, ethnic backgrounds, and religions in a manner that recognizes, affirms, and values the worth of individuals, families, and communities and protects and preserves the dignity of each.
  • Attendance is crucial to position.
  • Must be able to move quickly with intention and calm demeanor in response to a crisis.
Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Current and valid auto insurance, drivers license and reliable transportation.
  • Minimum of at least two (2) years of college or a high school diploma/GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience work experience with vulnerable, at-risk youth.
