SUMMARY The Poker Senior Dealer is a dual-rate position acting as a Dealer or fulfilling the regulatory required duties of a supervisor (assistant pit) and is responsible for dealing and conducting table game/poker play while providing and maintaining an atmosphere of professionalism and integrity within the game. As the Poker Senior Dealer, you will be responsible for ensuring gaming activity in your assigned table area is being conducted in accordance with all established rules and regulations while maintaining acceptable game pace and security to minimize potential theft. As part of your Dealer responsibilities you will be required to provide customer service to all guests assuring that their experience is enjoyable and memorable as a means of promoting return visits by the guest. This position is responsible for directly monitoring casino gaming activity in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations in order to assist in reaching profitability, guest satisfaction, and workforce strength and compliance goals. Provides encouragement, sets high expectations, and sets proud and positive examples necessary to ensure a fun, exciting and professional working environment for our staff and a pleasant and entertaining experience for our guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned when performing the duties of a senior dealer
Poker Senior Dealer may only work in the capacity of a Dealer or fulfill the regulatory required duties of a supervisor (assistant pit).
When acting as a Dealer this position will report to another Senior Table Games Dealer or Assistant Pit Manager and:
- Provides accurate and efficient dealing at assigned Poker games. Follows game procedures when dealing Poker and/or any other form or variation of table games.
- Provides prompt, courteous and accurate dealing at assigned table(s).
- Adheres to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Comply with all Pennsylvania State Gaming Control Board regulations as it relates to this position.
- Performs accurate chip and cash transactions.
- Receives wagers from customers and pays the appropriate game outcomes.
- Maintains game security and always protects company assets.
- Assists customers in understanding the rules and ensures adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
- Keep well informed of all corporate, property and department promotions and events.
- Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
- Poker Dealer keeps all accrued tips/gratuities.
When acting as a Dealer this position will not fulfill any duties of a supervisor (assistant pit) responsibilities. A Poker Senior Dealer may not be assigned to work as both a Dealer and fulfill the duties of a supervisor (assistant pit) within the same pit during the same shift and may only switch from a Dealer to supervisor or supervisor to Dealer once per shift.
When performing the regulatory required duties of a supervisor (assistant pit), this position reports to a Casino Operations Assistant Shift Manager or above and:
- Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.
- Provides leadership in the gaming operation areas.
- Protect the integrity of all poker games.
- Enforces company, departmental policies and procedures and complies with all Federal, State and PGCB regulations in accordance with Internal Controls.
- Supervise/Manage day to day operations of Poker Room.
- Supervise, coach, develop and direct Poker Dealers in proper procedures of all aspects of Poker Room operations.
- May fulfill the regulatory required duties of the Poker Manager, when needed in their absence.
- Maintains a continuous inspection of cards and always ensures the security of Poker Room assets.
- Monitors cash and chip transactions between dealers and customers and ensures that proper payout amounts are paid to customers.
- Responsible for settling disputes with customers, Dealers, and management staff.
- Provide regular feedback as appropriate to Dealers regarding opportunities for skill development and professional advancement.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
- Perform other job related and compatible duties as assigned.
- May be required to perform duties outside of normal job description where, in the Company's judgment, it is necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity, or improved guest services.
- Participate in ongoing training and successful completion of additional games as deemed necessary
- Provide professional representation at internal and external meetings and events.
- Demonstrate abilities to meet performance expectations with Communications, Initiative/Problem Solving, Guest Service/Interpersonal Relations, Work Habits and Conduct, and Responsible Gaming/Business Ethics.
- Ensure interactions with internal and external guests follow the guidelines of the customer service program.
- Adhere to all Corporate and local policies, procedures, and operating guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Ability to work any shift or hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Previous experience in casino or hospitality industry preferred. Proficiency in dealing poker as offered for play in the casino. General knowledge of table games rules and regulations.
- Two years progressively more challenging experience in a gaming operations role, poker experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior casino experience is preferred.
- Must have the ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
- Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests and regulatory agencies.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals.
- Must have the ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and guests.
- Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Must have the ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.
- Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
- Basic computer knowledge; MS Office
- Meet any credentialing requirements of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
