What are the responsibilities and job description for the MHE Operator-Weekend position at Holman Logistics Option 2?
Friday-Monday 5am-3:30pm
$19.75 per hour $2 per hour shift differential
Job Responsibilities
• Operates a lift truck by driving backwards and twisting to be able to look in the direction of
travel on a continual basis.
• Operates a lift truck all shift.
• Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary
equipment, such as cleaning or recharging batteries, and refers defects or repairs to
supervisor/maintenance.
• Moves controls to drive battery-powered lift trucks and transports materials between
loading, unloading, processing, and storage areas.
• Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and
swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
• Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure
material or products for transport to designated areas.
• Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
• Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
• Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
• Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Unloader –
• Unloads products from inbound carriers (truck and rail cars).
• Verifies that the product received is identified and counted accurately.
• Inspects condition of all received product.
• Moves and places product safely and securely in its proper storage location.
Preloader –
• Receives and reads preload orders.
• Fills orders by accurately picking product from storage and staging that product on a spot
utilizing stacking guidelines.
• Inspects and loads trucks and arranges the products with the cube of the trailer according
to recommended loading practices and guidelines.
• Uses scanning devise and computer as needed to perform tasks.
• Checks printout for shortages, over-counts and incorrect model numbers.
• Corrects shortages, over-counts and incorrect models where possible.
Truck Loader –
• Inspects trailers before loading products.
• Counts units on preload spot and compares with shipping documents.
• Moves products from the preload spot, and directly from storage when required, into the
trailer.
• Arranges the products within the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading
practices and guidelines.
• Properly secures the load for travel
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
• Experience: One to two years related experience
• Computer Skills: Basic scanner technology.
• Certificates & Licenses: Valid State Driver’s License; Forklift Certification preferred
