What are the responsibilities and job description for the MHE Operator 2nd Shift (Equipment Training Available) position at Holman Logistics?
Location : Commerce, GA
Salary : $19.75 plus Shift Differential $1.50
Schedule : Tues-Fri, 5pm-3 : 30am
All Material Handlers -
Operates a lift truck by driving backward and twisting to be able to look in the direction of travel continually.
Operates a lift truck on all shifts.
Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning or recharging batteries, and refers defects or repairs to
supervisor / maintenance.
Moves controls to drive battery-powered lift trucks and transport materials between loading, unloading, processing, and storage areas.
Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.
Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Unloader -
Unloads products from inbound carriers (truck and rail cars).
Verifies that the product received is identified and counted accurately.
Inspects the condition of all received product.
Moves and places product safely and securely in its proper storage location.
Preloader -
Receives and reads preload orders.
Fills orders by accurately picking products from storage and staging that product on the spot utilizing stacking guidelines.
Inspects and loads trucks and arranges the products with the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading practices and guidelines.
Uses scanning devices and computers as needed to perform tasks.
Checks printouts for shortages, over-counts, and incorrect model numbers.
Corrects shortages, over-counts, and incorrect models where possible.
Truck Loader -
Inspects trailers before loading products.
Counts units on preload spot and compares with shipping documents.
Moves products from the preload spot, and directly from storage when required, into the trailer.
Arrange the products within the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading practices and guidelines.
Properly secures the load for travel.

Attendance - Ability to work the required schedule and arrive at work on time. Ability and willingness to work the voluntary / mandatory overtime that is required during the busy season.
Communication - Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally courteously and professionally with others. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Mathematics - Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
Language - Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers. Ability to read and interpret documents such as receivers, invoices, operating instructions, and procedure
manuals. Ability to read and write simple sentences.
Diversity - Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
Relationship Building - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co-workers, and management.

Paperwork - Completion - Ability to complete necessary paperwork neatly and accurately and according to established guidelines. Properly count, document, or scan the number of units as needed by the function that is being performed.
Paperwork - Verification - Ability to verify paperwork necessary to ensure the customer is receiving the correct product. Ability to inspect the condition of product received and product going out to ensure quality.
