Ranch Hand

POSITION SUMMARY: The Ranch Hand (collectively the “Position”) is responsible for, landscaping, vineyard maintenance and ranch maintenance. The Position ensures Holman Ranch is always beautiful, well maintained, and in working order. The ranch hand duties include, among others: repairs, maintenance, landscaping, operation of heavy equipment, general maintenance of the vineyard and olive trees and following safe operating procedures.

The Ranch Hand (the “Position”) is classified as Non-Exempt and paid on an hourly basis.  The hourly pay rate will be $20.00 per hour.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

RANCH MAINTENANCE

The Position is responsible for the overall appearance, beauty, and condition of the Holman Ranch property to ensure the quality of the grounds is consistently maintained at the highest level.

• Mulching, wedding, plant management, pruning, watering, drip irrigation and general maintenance of the wedding venue, office, vineyard house, tasting room and other landscaped areas.
• Operation of mowers, weed eaters, leaf blowers for maintenance of ground and landscaping.
• Operation of heavy equipment such as tractors, tractor attachments, such as mowing, spraying and hedging. Operates a forklift and ranch vehicles.
• Cultivation, thinning, pruning, tying, suckering, canopy management, planting and replanting, harvesting grape vineyard
• Erosion control, rodent management, vineyard installation, fence installation
• Operation of heavy equipment such as tractors, tractor attachments, such as mowing, spraying and hedging. Operates a forklift and ranch vehicles.
• Pruning, spraying, watering and harvesting olive trees
• Effectively communicate and work cooperatively with other staff

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends, as needed.

• Holman Ranch is in the hospitality industry; therefore, the flexibility to work weekends and holidays is needed and expected. Schedules can fluctuate greatly in hours or days according to Event needs and the timing of scheduled lodging guests.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
