This is an interim position starts March 3, 2025 and goes through May 23, 2025.

 

 

 

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS                          

  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Valid Tennessee teaching certificate at appropriate grade level.
  3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Principal(s) or Director of Special Education

 

JOB GOAL                            

 

To provide an appropriate learning environment for special services students.

 

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Works directly with students with disabilities.
  2. Provides primary and/or supplementary individualized instruction in recommended academic areas.
  3. Offers academics on a level commensurate with the ability of each student as prescribed by the multidisciplinary team of each student in his/her individualized educational program.
  4. Provides remediation of, as well as compensation for, individual deficiencies as determined through individual evaluation.
  5. Guides the special services student into classes and other activities in an effort to help him/her attain his/her full potential as a productive member of society.
  6. Promotes the development of positive self-concept, self-discipline, and self-motivation.
  7. Serves as a consultant to the classroom teacher in meeting the needs of special services students.
  8. Serves as a diagnostician of learning problems of students at the local school level.
  9. Coordinates multidisciplinary team meetings.
  10. Cooperates with school and community personnel to provide an appropriate education for special services students.
  11. Make home visits when the need arises as determined by the resource teacher and school principal.
  12. Keeps the IEP of children receiving special education services accurate and up-to-date.
  13. Performs such other duties as may reasonably be prescribed by the principal and/or student personnel supervisor.

  6. Form Perception: To make visual comparisons and discriminations and see slight differences in shapes and shadings of figures.
  7. Color Discrimination: Ability to perceive or recognize similarities or differences in colors or shades or other values of the same color.
