A Field Engineer is a position that supports the superintendent and on-site personnel. Support involves assisting with on-site field administration, supervision, and technical management for all assigned projects. The engineer also assists in directing, planning, coordinating, and executing work on time and within budget, attaining or exceeding profit goals, maintaining a safe workplace, and promoting and enhancing client relationships and the company image.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist in developing, maintaining, and enforcing a project site logistics and temporary facilities plan.
- Assist in developing, implementing, maintaining, and enforcing a project site-specific safety program per Policies and Processes, OSHA requirements, and local, state, and federal laws, including all subcontractors.
- Actively participate in and assist post-bid, buyout, Owner/Architect/Contractor, coordination, lead team, subcontractor, staff, scheduling, and post-mortem meetings.
- Participate in and assist in managing OSHA site visits.
- Obtain and install standardized project signage from Corporate Marketing and other required identification material.
- Perform and monitor all job site control reporting measures, including daily reports, quantity reports, accident and incident reports, and timesheets.
- Assist in coordinating and managing all material deliveries.
- To mitigate risk, perform a qualitative review of all contract documents for potential conflicts or interpretation issues.
- Assist layout and field engineering with all project requirements.
- Ensure all insurance, safety, labor relations, and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements are met.
- To monitor the construction progress, inspect the job site, including climbing ladders, working in cluttered areas, working in bad weather, working in hazardous areas, and working in dark conditions.
- Understand all trade contractors’ means and methods by project contract documents.
- Assist in coordinating daily construction activities within existing operating facilities.
- Maintain a set of plans and contract documents that contains all the current contract changes and clarifications.
- Develop and execute a plan for monitoring and completing punch list items. Coordinate all required field inspections.
- Actively participates on internal team(s) that focus on continuous business improvement.
- Promote the growth and development of client, subcontractor, and vendor relationships.
GENERAL BACKGROUND AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Two-year associates or four-year degree in an accredited construction-related curriculum (BSCE, BSCM, BSAE, etc.) or experience equivalent to a four-year degree.
- Minimum of one to three years of experience in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA requirements.
- Maintain current certifications for First Aid and CPR.
- Proficient with personal computer-based scheduling software and proficiency in current corporate software packages.
