What are the responsibilities and job description for the College Intern-Safety & Environmental position at HOLT Group?
HOLT Group is looking to hire an Intern in our Safety and Environmental department who will assist the Safety Resource Partners (HRP) in supporting a wide range of Safety and environmental activities, including inspections and audits, incident investigation, key measurable metrics, and performance management. This summer internship will be located out of our offices in Irving, TX.
Essential Functions:
- Provides administrative support for the Safety & Environmental department
- Assists with the coordination of various Safety programs, activities, events, and initiatives
- Conducts research, prepares, and maintains spreadsheets, drafts presentations, and prepares material for the Safety & Environmental team
- Organizes and updates confidential files and records
- Assists with ad hoc analysis and reporting
- Assists with facility inspections tracking, auditing, and updating
- Assists in maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning safety & environment
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint); ability to produce information in spreadsheets, documents, forms, tables, and presentations
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional skills in customer service
- Strong organization skills, detailed-oriented, and ability to work on multiple projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization

Education and Experience:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental, or a related field
- Must be actively enrolled in a University or College program with an anticipated graduation year of 2025-2026
- Must possess a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA
