Job Summary:
The Human Resources Director is responsible for overseeing key HR functions, including employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, recruiting, and leave of absence management. This role ensures the organization remains compliant with employment laws, fosters a positive workplace culture, and supports employee and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations:
• Act as the primary contact for employees and managers to address workplace concerns and provide resolution strategies.
• Conduct investigations into complaints, grievances, or allegations of misconduct, ensuring fair and timely resolutions.
• Develop and implement strategies to promote employee engagement and retention.
• Provide guidance to managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
Onboarding:
• Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new hires have a positive and seamless transition into the organization.
• Develop orientation programs that introduce employees to company culture, policies, and values.
• Partner with hiring managers to create customized onboarding plans for specific roles.
Benefits Administration:
• Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other perks.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees with benefits-related questions or issues.
• Oversee annual open enrollment processes and communicate changes to employees effectively.
• Collaborate with benefits providers to resolve claims and ensure competitive offerings.
Recruiting:
• Lead the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring top talent.
• Partner with department heads to identify current and future staffing needs.
• Build and maintain a talent pipeline through networking, partnerships, and employer branding initiatives.
• Track recruiting metrics and provide regular updates on hiring performance.
Leave of Absence:
• Manage all aspects of leave administration, including FMLA, ADA, and other state-specific leave policies.
• Provide guidance to employees and managers on leave eligibility, processes, and return-to-work plans.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with all legal requirements.
HR Compliance and Policies:
• Stay updated on federal, state, and local employment laws to ensure compliance.
• Develop and update HR policies and employee handbooks as needed.
• Provide training to managers and employees on HR-related topics such as workplace safety, diversity, and inclusion.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (HR certification preferred, such as SHRM-CP, PHR).
Experience:
• 5 years of progressive HR experience, including benefits administration, recruiting, and employee relations.
• Proven experience with leave of absence management.
Skills:
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and benefits platforms.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
