HOLT Truck Centers of Corpus Christi is looking to hire a full time Outside Parts Sales individual. The primary function of the outside parts salesperson is to solicit parts sales from new and existing customers through personal and phone contacts in sales territories established by management.
Duties And Responsibilities
High school diploma or the equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information Valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Professional personal appearance. Knowledge of automotive/truck parts. Will be trained on dealership’s parts inventory system. Must be able to represent the dealership in a professional manner.
Working Conditions
Will spend six to eight hours a day driving and calling on customers and moving about each location. May be required to spend time out of town and overnight as required by territories. Will be required to lift and transport up to 50 pounds.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Visit assigned customers. (40 assigned accounts)
- Prospect for new customers. (10 conquest accounts at all times)
- Promote all dealership departments including Parts, Service, Sales, Rental and Leasing if applicable.
- Follow up on parts orders to ensure that customers have been served properly.
- Work with customer to ensure all of his/her needs are being addressed and be a partner in both our mutual growth in business.
- Assist customer with any problems, which may arise in connection with parts sales, including returns and warranties.
- Use judgment to decide whether an order should be ordered on emergency or stock status.
- Communicate parts orders to counter people. Advise whether status is stock or emergency. If emergency, counterperson will check and advise on availability
- Advise counterperson on delivery instructions.
- Verify with customers if delivery date of non-stock items is acceptable with all customers before ordering.
- Inform customers of “special orders” and /or freight policy, advise if deposits are required on special order and/or re-stocking charges apply to returns.
- Submit weekly call reports to parts manger electronically through Pipeline. Expenses should be submitted a least once a month, and filled out completely. Expenses other than food must be approved prior with parts manger i.e. (golf, dinners after work, trips etc.).
- Review any special orders and special pricing with the parts manger and obtain his/her approval.
- Attend training seminars when requested, schedule and promote a least 2 customer outings each year.
- Coordinate service sales with service department. Promote service work and warranty work for our service department.
- Advise parts manager of changes in customers’ names, addresses, or credit issues, etc.
- Keeps up with newest vehicles, catalogs and other supplies to increase sales awareness’ and benefits for the customer needs.
- Inform customers of any weekly or monthly specials on a regular basis. Get the email address and phone #’s for all customers.
