Job Summary : The Manufacturing Process Specialist (MPS) is responsible for providing technical and troubleshooting support related to production of components to include fixturing, machining application, safe practices and programming for components. All manufacturing components will be processed to run on various machines (e.g. cut table, plate roller, horizontal / vertical machining centers, and turning machines).
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis : 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal / external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.
Essential Functions :
- Models and promotes alignment with HOLT's Vision, Values, and Mission
- Creates and maintains methods of manufacturing (M.O.M.s) in Epicore ERP system. Works with Operations to establish the proper methods, time allocations, and processes required then develops the operations in the ERP system.
- Acts as a specialist with respect to programming software (GM code, Esprit, ProNest, etc.) to establish processes to create or form components
- Provides input into applicable fixturing / work holding and cutting tools to achieve manufacturing objectives for component production
- Maintains machining and forming processes to specifications and performs process testing to ensure quality control of practices and procedures
- Collaborates and mentors operators in the proper use of each process as well as primary responsibility for ensuring that each program is not permanently modified
- Communicates operational issues, ergonomic, safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, and quality concerns to Operations Supply Chain Manager
- Maintains high level of understanding in electronic file organization, security and maintenance
- Partners with engineering design groups to resolve manufacturing challenges associated with machining and forming - during NPI and prior to release of production orders.
- Assists with continuous improvement activities, 5S development, Rapid Improvement Workshops, and machine PM development
- Monitors adherence to quality standards and develops action plans to address programming problems that cause sub-standard quality results
- Communicates, maintains, and collaborates in fostering continuity with MPS team to include machine operators, welders, MFG technicians, Process Specialist, and Manufacturing Engineers
- Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering, with detailed set-up sheet and instructions (Standard Work) for production of the components or units to accompany each process as required.
- Communicates feedback of details to area section manager and participation in Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCAs) of issues, defects, and concerns
- Operates computer aided design (CAD) equipment to create plans, develop drawings, and propose layouts of products, components, and assemblies.
- Calculates engineering computations and prepares specifications.
- Reports and compiles information on operations for documentation purposes.
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards to include addressing
- Works overtime as required by workload and customers' needs
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
