Job Summary :
Holt CAT is the largest Caterpillar dealership of heavy equipment in the United States. 2nd shift Engine Technician - Shop position available at our Waco, Texas location. The hours of the position are Friday - Sunday from 5 AM - 5 : 30 PM. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment and / or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines. Can work independently or as a team member to provide mechanical services that satisfy customer needs and achieve departmental goals.
Essential Functions :
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failures
- Disassembles and assembles machine components to manufacturer's specifications through the use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized tooling
- Rebuilds, repairs, reconditions and maintains equipment and components
- Demonstrates good customer relations and support; communicates customer needs to shop management
- Plans and controls cost of repair jobs
- Completes parts orders and identifies parts for return
- Mentors and helps train other technicians
- Maintains all equipment and work areas - keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Works overtime as required by workload and customers' needs
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g., ProTech Technician Training Paths
- Performs other duties as assigned
